The Foundation believes that handouts alone are not charity but possess the broad capacity to enact change: it is the comprehensive offering of aid that transforms an action into something of lasting value. While aid during disasters can alleviate dire situations, empowerment and continued assistance ensure that the disaster is never repeated. Our promise is to provide assistance in a way that ensures to uplifts them from their circumstances now and in the future.
Aid does not only have to seek to fill voids, it can also serve as an anchor to connect people to seamless opportunities, new skills and a way forward. Every contribution makes it possible to break barriers for entire communities who are affected by poverty, poor health or discrimination: opportunities to revolutionize their life. That is why we prefer to speak of the provision of aid in terms of empowerment rather than dependency.
